Surveying the area, I realized that the large table on the right was made up of six women. Grabbing Bill as a wingman, I told him to play along. Let’s face facts: I’m no Quasimodo, but I don’t hold a candle to a guy like Bill; he is a genetic abnormality of superior good looks. If I was going to go in for a conversation with a group of women, I wanted to have some hot meat to dangle in front of them.

As we approached, I still had no idea what I was going to say to them. Trying to kill time while I thought of something, I apologized for interrupting their evening. Perhaps my energy was wasted, as I was relatively sure that upon seeing Bill next to me, they didn’t hear a word I said anyway.

I asked if they knew the area well. They were curious what we were looking for (or said another way, what Bill was looking for, and was he single). I explained that I had to show Bill around while he was in town for a modeling gig with his twin brother. I wanted them to be enthralled with him.
